Welcome to Room 11's Home Page
IN THE KNOW
As we are sure most of you know by now, Mrs. White has left us due to a tear in her knee, which she'll have fixed in mid-February. As of now we are expecting her to return after spring break. We are lucky enough to have Mrs. Hart, a sub who certainly knows her way around TES, as our assistant until then. Mrs. Hart is a wonderful addition to our room. Please plan on attending 5th Grade Parent SOL night on February 11th. This is for parents of ALL 5th graders. The teachers will explain what to expect for the Writing SOL and the May SOLs.There is a new Study Island Assignment in Writing- be sure you start it Monday night- do NOT save this assignment for Thursday night. Parents you play a part in this assignment, so please look at it Monday too. It's coming... the writing SOL Test is March 1 & 2. Yikes! There will be writing HW beginning next week and will go on until we reach March 1st. Incomplete writing HW will lead to silent lunch - no ifs, ands, or buts!
Help! We are completely out of the wipes we use after school to clean the desks, tables, door knobs, etc. We would apprecite any tubs of these that you can send in. Remember, we are trying to keep your children healthy!
Please do not save memorizing poems or reading book report books 'til the last minute. You are given 3+ weeks to complete these assignments. This means even if you are out sick the day the assignment is due, you've had the prior 3+ weeks to work on it, and we will expect it the day you return. You should not start the project the night before it is due. We will not accept this as an excuse for other HW not being completed either. Classroom policy states that if any type of project is late 1 day it is -10 points, 2 days -15 points, and not accepted later than this.
